Dear Friend,
Some thirteen years ago when HandMade in America embarked on its pioneering programs of work, our founders laid out a few carefully considered goals and guiding principles to chart the course for achieving our mission in Western North Carolina:
To celebrate the hand and the handmade; to nurture the creation of traditional and contemporary craft; to revere and protect our resources; and, to preserve and enrich the
spiritual, cultural, and community life of our region.
Our goals – formed with words such as developing, establishing, implementing, and encouraging – are made tangible through our activities this past year. Exciting projects such as the Quilt Trail Project, the recently opened Green Energy Park in Jackson County and rural entrepreneurship training have all been made possible through the efforts of HandMade in America.
And across the mountains of Western North Carolina, there is more – much more. We encourage you to read our 2005-2006 Annual Report, and discover other of the truly innovate projects we have accomplished, to the benefit of the “spiritual, cultural, and community life of our region.”
Please consider making your tax-deductible gift to HandMade in America today. HandMade’s mission is as relevant now as it was in the beginning, and we need your financial contribution to assure the continued success of the creative programs presented in our Annual Report. Participate in our stewardship initiatives for strengthening the handmade industry of Western North Carolina, through your generous donation.
Sincerely,
Becky Anderson, Executive Director
P.S. Thank you for being such a generous contributor to our way of life.
