Toni De Lisa : Toni De Lisa Ceramics

Specialty: I use a combination of wheel thrown and hand building to create sculptural, organic forms which are then fired in the American Raku tradition. I make large free form bowls that make a dramatic statement alone or filled with orchid arrangements. There are platters and trays and smaller vessels I call pods. as well as funeral urns for people and pets. All the pieces have different textures. Waffles, diamond shapes, koi and ripped edges contrast against slick, shiny, crackled glazes. Some parts are glazed and others are left natural. The unglazed parts are various shades of blacks and greys.
