One of our goals at HandMade In America is to establish an academic base to empower crafts throughout all levels of education as object, subject, and process. We accomplish this task by working in schools with teachers to create lesson plans using craft as a means of teaching math, language arts, science and social sciences, and by coordinating educational exhibits featuring the crafts, and craft history of Western North Carolina.
