The 3rd Annual Charlotte Fine Art & Craft Show happens October 9 & 10, 2010 at The Park Expo & Conference Center (formerly called Charlotte Merchandise Mart). This is a high quality juried, fine art & craft show, juried by art professionals who are in the art business and who have an art education. We focus on making this event different from other art shows in the area. Award winning artists from around the globe will have work available for purchase including sculpture, paintings, glass, clay, wood, fiber, photography, jewelry and more. All work is personally hand made by the artists, and is for purchase. Our team continuously travels around the country and to Canada to recruit the best artists, of which this may be their only North Carolina event. In order to attract the higher quality artists, the judges award cash prizes. The event is produced by Hot Works, LLC, which is the same company that produces the award winning Orchard Lake Fine Art Show in Michigan – voted in the top 100 art shows in the country the last four years in a row! We bring the same quality standards to Charlotte. The 2010 art work chosen to represent the event is of local Concord, NC artist, Charles Farrar, wood.
The Institute for the Arts & Education is the non profit 501c3 organization that is part of this event and its focus is on artistry and community enrichment. Art demonstrations will be happening so that the patron may learn how some of the art work is made. The Charlotte Symphony will offer season tickets as a door prize. Join the national celebration of American Craft Week by improving craft’s recognition and gaining an understanding of the American Craft artists in the show.
